Dhawan’s team, PBKS, will play against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Thursday. Both teams haven’t had an easy time in this IPL season. Furthermore,they’ve won two games and lost four each, earning only four points. Currently, PBKS is in eighth place, and MI is in seventh place. In their last matches, both teams lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) respectively.
On Instagram, Dhawan posted a photo of himself wearing a jersey with the number one, which is his son Zoraver’s name. The caption of Dhawan’s post read, “You’re Always with Me, My Boy.”
Dhawan and his former wife Ayesha Mukherjee ended their marriage in September 2021, and their divorce was finalized in October of the same year due to irreconcilable differences. Last year, Dhawan expressed his sadness about not being able to see his son for a year.
IPL 2024 Performance and Injury Update
In the current IPL season, Dhawan has played five matches and scored 152 runs with an average of 30.40 and a strike rate of 125.61. He also scored a half-century, with his highest score being 80. Dhawan missed the previous match against RR due to a shoulder injury.
After the match against RR, Punjab Kings’ Cricket Director, Sanjay Bangar, stated that Dhawan might be out of action for at least seven to ten days due to his shoulder injury. Dhawan is one of the leading run-scorers in the IPL history, with 6768 runs in 222 matches, including two centuries and 51 fifties.
