Impact of Mayank Yadav’s Absence
The team’s CEO announced on Monday that they are taking precautions with Mayank Yadav’s absence shakes up Lucknow Super Giants’ lineup causing the fast bowler, capable of reaching speeds of 156.7 kmph, to be expected to miss the upcoming IPL match against Delhi Capitals on April 12 due to a minor abdominal injury, thus shaking up Lucknow Super Giants’ lineup.
“Mayank has a sore lower abdomen, so we’re carefully managing his activity this week. We’re hoping he’ll be back playing soon,” said Vinod Bisht, the Super Giants’ CEO. This announcement also casts doubt on Mayank’s participation in LSG’s game on April 14 against Kolkata Knight Riders.
It’s unclear when Mayank will return, as abdominal injuries can take time to heal, especially for fast bowlers. Mayank had to leave the field after bowling just one over in the match against the Titans, and he didn’t come back for the rest of the game. Initially, it was thought he had a side strain.

After the match, teammate Krunal Pandya mentioned that Mayank seemed to be doing alright. “I talked to him briefly, and he seemed fine, which is good. He’s got a great attitude, and I’m looking forward to seeing how his career develops,” Krunal said.Before this injury, Mayank had taken six wickets in two matches in this IPL season but had to leave the third game early.
Cricket legend Brian Lara praised Mayank’s skills but advised him to seek guidance from experienced bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah to improve further. “Mayank needs to stay ahead of the game and learn from top bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah. He has the potential to be a great fast bowler,” Lara mentioned.
Mayank has struggled with injuries, missing a lot of cricket, including the entire Ranji Trophy season due to a side strain he got while bowling in a net session before the season started.
