IPL 2024 Points Table: What CSK’s Second Loss Means

Chennai Super Kings fell to fifth place in the IPL 2024 points table. They lost to Lucknow Super Giants by six wickets. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored a century, but it wasn’t enough as Marcus Stoinis’ unbeaten 124 led LSG to victory. CSK now has 8 points in 8 matches with a good Net Run Rate of 0.415. LSG moved to fourth place with 10 points from 8 matches, but their Net Run Rate isn’t better than CSK’s. Rajasthan Royals are at the top of the table with 14 points, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad (both with 10 points). LSG Defeat CSK in IPL 2024.

KL Rahul praised Marcus Stoinis’ match-winning innings against CSK. Stoinis’ 124 overshadowed Gaikwad’s century. Rahul admitted that a score like 180, which used to be challenging, might not be enough nowadays in T20 cricket.

After the match, Rahul said their previous win against CSK in Lucknow didn’t have much relevance on a different pitch in Chennai. He praised Stoinis’ batting and said sending him at No. 3 was a brave move.

Stoinis, named Player of the Match, commented on the match’s ups and downs. He appreciated the performances of other players like Nicholas Pooran and Deepak Hooda.
